Do ornaments come in skull shapes? Those would be much more interesting than all these round ones.

( 835 Hastings Boulevard, front yard )

[ Amongst all the forgetting and sadness, there is one house that looks to have bucked the dreary trend. Amaimon has taken the giant tree the town has as its own Christmas tree as a challenge and has proceeded to decorate the hell out of his quaint little suburban home. Everything is covered in lights. Every damn inch out of the outside he could find Christmas lights for, especially now that so many people went and got rid of themselves so the town could have power. But that isn't the worst best of it...

The best of it is the colossal pine tree that has grown in the front yard overnight. Yes, overnight. There had been no trees the day before and now? A tree that rivals the town tree stands in the yard.

But it's still in the process of being decorated by dozens of little green plant men, who are clambering around the branches, hanging baubles, lights, and tinsel with Amaimon supervises from below. The demon points out bare spots or waves at things he wants moved a little to the left between decimating the box of candy canes that will never, ever make it onto that pine.

Maybe they will make us hunt down the new fake people for Christmas. That would be very interesting.

[Sometimes the town is right on the ball where his tastes lay, actually.]

[identity profile] answerer-sword.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
...

[This man seems to like going out of his way to antagonize her.]

I fail to see how that would be interesting. Tiresome, perhaps, but not interesting.

[Aurora walks over, and crouches down to get a better look at them.] Do they have names?

Aren't skulls more... um, Halloween?

[not the tail no okay it'd probably all fit in rather smoothly with his overall image...

he makes a face at the mention of human customs, finding the grand race of outdoing one's neighbors in festive shenanigans nothing but pointless.]

They're curious, but most of them are also idiotic and not worth paying attention to. I'm afraid this would be one of those instances. [but at least his beautiful yard isn't quite at the eye-searing level that requires glasses yet...

the tree things are his favorite so far, and he half-waves back up at them.]
What are those?

[identity profile] callinblueskies.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Why did he even walk by this house anymore. He must have a death wish.]

What the...[Staring at the little green men as they decorate the tree. He'll reach down and poke one of them in passing, curious to see if they all made the same 'Nii!' sound Shiemi's did.]

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
No. They do not need any.

[Not that it's stopped others from naming them in the past. Anyway, one or two of the Greenmen stop working and look back at Aurora. One even waves!]

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
It would be much more interesting than standing around and doing nothing. I wouldn't find it tiresome at all, since I do not get tired very much now.

[He isn't even trying to. He's just answering honestly!]

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I find the tree part quaint, but I don't think they should cut them down. Trees are better alive.

[Which is exactly what this giant pine is, roots and all.

And the yard is only saved from that level of ohgodwhy due to the 1950s lacking the giant singing snowmen inflatables and santa-hatted pink lawn flamingos.
]

Those? They are my Greenmen.

( phone )

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Are they?

[Huh.]

I thought skulls were good for any occasion.

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Dude, Rin, you erased yourself.

Amaimon doesn't even register that the exwire is there, instead intent on watching the decorating shenanigans of his little plant buddies.

...up until he pokes one and it squeaks at him. It doesn't make the same sound, but close.
]

What are you doing?

[identity profile] answerer-sword.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
And what if I told you they were never replaced? Would it still be "interesting" to know that you are not killing constructs, but actual, sentient beings?

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Why would that make any difference, whether they are or not? It's all the same to me.

[his yard would be a christmas monstrosity...

but he does bend over to check if the tree is rooted or not, looking a little surprised to see that yep, it is.]

What will you do once the holidays are over? Most humans throw their trees to the compost after the festivities end, you know. [he is a little worried they're going to have a giant permanent christmas tree for the rest of the days in mayfield now...]

Greenmen, hm? They look rather useful.

[identity profile] answerer-sword.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
You have no respect for other beings, do you?

( phone )

[identity profile] pokeay.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't really know... I didn't celebrate Halloween back home. I only learned about it when I came to Mayfield.

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't? Then how do you tell them apart?

[Aurora smiles broadly and waves back at them.]

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
By what plants they use to make their bodies.

[They wave a little longer before getting back to wrestling with the tinsel.]

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
That's a strange thing to assume. If a being gives me a good reason to respect them, of course I do.

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[No, it would be beautiful. The most beautiful yard in the universe.]

I think I will keep it. [whether he means to leave the decorations up or not is yet to be seen.] Oh, yes, they are. They are very good at growing things.

[He's proud of his littlest kin, even if they don't like violence.]

( phone )

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Then you can't really say they would not suit a Christmas tree.

I could paint them red and gold. It would look very classy.

( phone )

[identity profile] pokeay.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I guess that's true. I suppose it doesn't really matter, as long as they're in the holiday spirit - !

That's just the commercialized version.

[Famous last words.]

Is that so? Strange. It seems much more popular than the religious version. I wonder what that says.

[identity profile] ceilingdemonis.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I think anything can be an ornament if they meet the proper standards for color and shininess, if what the drones are decorating with are anything to go by.

Does the town have metallic paints in any of its stores?
